The Rocky Community Improvement Fund (RCIF) is pleased to announce the second annual “Fare on the Square” dinner and fundraiser on Thursday, June 11th, to support The Southeast Ohio Foodbank & Kitchen.
Fare on the Square will be an intimate dinner event held on the beautiful historic downtown square in Nelsonville Ohio. This event will allow everyone the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful evening highlighting many of our local businesses while raising money to assist with food insecurities in Nelsonville and surrounding areas.
Our fundraising goal is $40,000 including proceeds from ticket sales, sponsorships, a silent auction, and additional on-site donations. To help reach that goal, The Osteopathic Heritage Foundation has agreed to partner with RCIF again on this event. We were pleased to reach this goal last year and we hope that with the help of community members and business owners like yourself, we will far surpass it this year.
The funds raised will be distributed through the SE Ohio Foodbank to various pantries in Athens, Hocking, Meigs, Perry and Vinton counties.
About the Event
Guests will enjoy appetizers and a fabulous three-course meal prepared by local Certified Master Chef Alfonso Contrisciani. Chef Alfonso is the Executive Director of Hospitality Programs and Practicum Properties at Hocking College and oversees the Hocking Inn and Rhapsody restaurant in Nelsonville.
Musical entertainment will be provided by local performers to be
announced later. Wine and Beer will be available for purchase and nonalcoholic beverages will be complimentary.* Our silent auction will feature items and experience packages donated by local businesses.
About Southeast Ohio Foodbank
The mission of the Southeast Ohio Food Bank is “to channel surplus food to those who do not have enough, with a goal of making a positive difference in their lives.” In order to do this, they work with many government and community agencies to provide food to over 70 local food pantries, soup kitchens, and other organizations. They provide many hunger-related programs throughout the year targeting seniors and children with food insecurities. With their buying power, every $1 donated equals $15 in groceries they can provide to a household.
