POSITION SUMMARY:

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Duties and responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Interview, hire, coach, counsel, reward and discipline associates.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Directly supervise associates engaged in preparing food, serving meals, and cleaning kitchen and dining room.
  • Coordinate all training activities for the kitchen, cashier and dining areas. This includes the identification of training needs and the design and implementation of programs to address deficiencies.
  • Develop recipes and portion specifications in accordance with consumer tastes, nutritional needs, product specifications, ease of preparation and established procedures and budgetary constraints.
  • Plan daily menus, which includes purchasing within an established budget.
  • Conduct regular inspections to observe the quality of food preparation, food appearance, customer service, and cleanliness and sanitation of production and service areas, equipment, and associate appearance.
  • Purchase, keep adequate supply, and oversee the use of food and supplies.
  • Keep records and make reports of expenditures.
  • Balance receipts and prepare bank deposit slip.
  • Take reservations, organize seating, greet customers and act as a liaison between the kitchen and the dining area.
  • Answer customer complaints or inquiries.

A well-qualified candidate will possess:

  • Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two (2) to four (4) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of restaurant management experience.
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Suite of Applications.
  • Experience with Point of Service cash register.
  • Ability to lift and carry fifty pounds (50 lbs.).
