POSITION SUMMARY:

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Duties and responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Stock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.
  • Set up advertising displays or arrange merchandise on counters or tables.
  • Obtain merchandise requested by customer or receives merchandise selected by customer.
  • Answer customer’s questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.
  • Total price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill.
  • Process Retail Management Systems (RMS) sales transaction to invoice customer.
  • Accept payment and makes change.
  • Wrap or bag merchandise for customers.
  • Clean shelves, counters, or tables.
  • Remove and record amount of cash in register at end of shift.
  • Keep record of sales and prepare inventory of stock.
  • Ability to travel in the company vehicle and be at the assigned location and “open for business” as scheduled.

 

A well-qualified candidate will possess:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months experience working in retail store environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Current Driver’s License is required, depending on state mandates a Commercial Driver’s License may be required.
    • Ability to lift and carry fifty pounds (50 lbs.).
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to operate a Point Of Sale Cash Register.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals; ability to compute percent.
