POSITION SUMMARY:

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Coordinate all training activities for the kitchen, cashier and dining areas. This includes the identification and analysis of training needs and the design and implementation of programs to address deficiencies.
  • Interview, hire, coach, counsel, reward and discipline associates.
  • Directly supervise associates engaged in preparing food, serving meals, and cleaning the kitchen and dining room.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Develop recipes and portion specifications in accordance with consumer tastes, nutritional needs, and product specifications, ease of preparation and established procedures and budgetary constraints.
  • Plan daily menus to include the determination of purchasing specifications, product and recipe testing and menu development while keeping expenses within budget.
  • Conduct regular inspections to observe quality of food preparation and service; food appearance; and cleanliness and sanitation of production and service areas, equipment and associate appearance.
  • Purchase, keep adequate supply, and oversee the use of food and supplies.
  • Keep records and make reports of expenditures.
  • Balance receipts and prepare bank deposit slip.
  • Take reservations, organize seating, greet customers and act as a liaison between the kitchen and dining area.
  • Answer customer complaints or inquiries.

A well-qualified candidate will possess an Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two (2) to four (4) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; One (1) year of restaurant management experience; Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Suite of Applications; Experience with Point of Service cash register; Ability to lift and carry fifty pounds (50 lbs.); Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals; ability to compute percent.
